A series of 3D FIGURINES as well as PAINT WITH PAPER series, crafted out of paper, with the idea of bringing the jungle home with yourself.
The playful creative approach exercises the brains of children and adults alike. This project focuses on the importance of wildlife conservation with a discovery of the fantastic Indian tribal art form - Gond.

The motivation is to create an alternative to the disheartening plastic animals, wrapped in more plastic, as found in the toyshops. The nostalgic memory of origami books as a kid, which has templates for simple bunnies, cats, dog ears and such inspired this series.

The 4 animals carefully selected are some of the top endangered species in the South-Asian habitats - The Indian Rhinoceros, The Bengal Tiger, The Indian Black Buck and the Resplendent Tree Frog. For budding naturalists, to learn stories of bravery, of co-habiting, of tribal folk-lores.

Using simple paper folding techniques, we create volume and contours which define the distinctive identifying features of these animals. We use solid heavy paper which can easily fold, but also stand stable as the animal form.
PAINT WITH PAPER series
Once again with endangered species, seen below:
Mountain Gorilla, Yangtze Finless Porpoise

Each artwork comes together like a charming collage, crafted from carefully cut pieces that seamlessly blend to create a piece with rich depth.

The young crafters are encouraged to add details of their own.
Seen below: Sumatran Elephant, Hawksbill Turtle

This is an ongoing project.
